At Planet Pho, located in the charming Kailua, Hawaii, diners are treated to an authentic taste of Vietnam. From savory Beef Stew served with a choice of French bread or rice noodles to delightful vermicelli dishes crafted with crab meat and fresh shrimp, the offerings are a testament to flavor and quality. Customers rave about the Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi, celebrated for its tender meat and vibrant slaw, while the shrimp rolls shine with a perfect balance of freshness and rich peanut sauce. The ambiance, described by patrons as peaceful and homey, complements the delicious menu. Regulars like Robby Wooldridge and Aaron Butler appreciate the generous portions and the opportunity to mix flavors, such as the chili sauce paired with peanut sauce for an extra kick. Another highlight is the Chicken Pho, which Erin Castillo praises as exceptionally tasty, encouraging food lovers to explore the diverse menu. Users commend not only the food but also the excellent service, contributing to the reputation of Planet Pho as perhaps the best Pho spot on the island. As Bruna Bogio puts it, the flavor is simply amazing, making this restaurant a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. With their dedication to authentic cuisine and customer satisfaction, Planet Pho shines as a vibrant addition to Kailua’s dining scene.

The food is delicious! The shrimp rolls are well balanced- fresh ingredients and a rich peanut sauce with lots of dynamic flavors. The Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi was stellar! Tender meat with LOTS of flavor, fantastic bread and a fresh veg slaw with some sweetness and acidity. The pork satay was full of flavor and a lot of food! The restaurant was quiet and peaceful.

One of my regular spots. #53 with pork with a shrimp summer roll is always filling and delicious! For a bit of a kick mix in some of the chilly sauce with the peanut sauce before dipping the summer roll. UPDATE: Finally changed things up and got the Pho w/ Steak today, it was a wonderful medley of flavors.

Absolutely amazing vegan pho and papaya salad. Huge portions, we could easily have shared 1 plate. Super friendly service.

Great Vietnamese restaurant! Good quality food prepared quickly. The owner, Linda, was very nice and helpful, even recommending modifications to our order. The Spicy Lemongrass Chicken with half rice and half salad was excellent! However, our maps app took us to the wrong side of the building, where there is no entrance to Planet Pho. If this happens to you, just circle back around to the main street and enter from that side, across the street from Zippy's. It's worth the extra 45 seconds of driving!

I don’t normally write reviews but the food here was really good. I’ve eaten a lot of Vietnamese in my life and I will say this is some of the best I’ve eaten. A little pricey for someone that has travelled the world but for Hawaii I guess it’s ok. These are new owners so give them a chance.
